With Cupcakes Final Battle 2, said and done, It’s time for my BEST BAND pick of the Night! In my opinion the Star band of the show was the middle band who now call themselves Atomic Man!
The whole band consists of just two people Hans Amador (guitar) and Jason McNichols (drums). The quality of their showmanship on stage, and the fullness of sound they produce, can only be achieved by having the kind of connection with each other that all bands dream of! The fact they’ve only been playing together for a short time makes them in my mind a likely successful band.
I got a chance to talk with them for a while after the performance. I asked if there was a bass player in their future. They told me it’s possible, but they just haven’t found the right person yet. I personally don’t think they need one. The pair are genuinely respectable dudes with high levels of musical talent, and a real connection to the music, and dedication to each other.
Jason told me he had traveled quite a ways to make this show happen. If you have not seen Atomic Man, you need too.
